Used Car Inventory Manager

We’re seeking a Assistant Used Car Inventory Manager to assist with our dealership’s pre-owned vehicle operations. This role is essential in ensuring a steady flow of marketable used vehicles, managing the reconditioning process, and maintaining accurate listings across all platforms. The ideal candidate will balance strong organizational skills with the ability to make smart, timely inventory decisions that drive sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake, inspection, and reconditioning process for all pre-owned vehicles.
• Source, appraise, and acquire used vehicles through trade-ins, auctions, and other channels within management’s financial guidelines.
• Oversee vendor relationships for reconditioning, detailing, transport, and other services.
• Monitor and update used vehicle inventory across dealership systems, websites, and third-party platforms, ensuring accuracy in data, photos, and pricing.
• Track inventory aging and recommend actions for stale units.
• Maintain cycle time standards from acquisition to lot-ready status
• Generate and analyze inventory and sales reports for management.
• Work closely with sales managers to ensure proper pricing strategy and inventory mix.
• Coordinate vehicles for wholesale or auction as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework a plus.
• Strong understanding of used car operations, reconditioning, and market trends.
• Proficiency with tools such as vAuto, VinSolutions, or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
