General Handyman – Multi-Dealership Support

Location: Statewide Travel within Connecticut
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, versatile, and highly motivated General Handyman to join our dealership group. This role is responsible for providing hands-on maintenance and repair support across multiple new car dealerships in Connecticut. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, is proactive about solving problems, and can manage a wide variety of repair and upkeep tasks.

Because this position involves supporting several locations, a flexible schedule and willingness to travel statewide are essential. No two days are the same — you may be painting and repairing drywall at one store in the morning, handling plumbing or electrical issues at another by the afternoon, and assisting with facility improvements at a third location later in the week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of general building maintenance and repair tasks, including:
    • Minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
    • Painting, drywall, flooring, and general facility upkeep.
    • Light HVAC troubleshooting and coordination with outside vendors when necessary.
    • Furniture, fixture, and equipment assembly or repair.
  • Conduct routine inspections of dealership facilities to identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
  • Complete work orders efficiently while prioritizing urgent requests and balancing multiple dealership needs.
  • Work independently with limited supervision, while maintaining communication with dealership management teams.
  • Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and professional upon completion.
  • Travel daily or as scheduled to various dealership locations across the state.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (mandatory).
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, handyman work, or facility support.
  • Broad knowledge of basic building systems and repair techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose issues quickly.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, and able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to adjust to the needs of multiple dealership locations (including occasional evenings or weekends, if emergencies arise).

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay.
  • All necessary tools and equipment provided.
  • Consistent, year-round work within a stable dealership group.
  • Opportunity for growth and long-term employment.
