We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. This includes planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating various tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The Construction Project Manager will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Objectives:

The Construction Project Manager role is primarily responsible for the successful execution of construction activities required for a successful project completion. These tasks include a range of duties including scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, scope creation and management, site team coordination, problem solving, and detailed record keeping.

It is expected that a Construction Project Manager is a great communicator both written and verbally. This position requires a daily understanding of project activities and the ability to forecast. All reporting and documentation required for success and organization are expected.

This position works in unison with the Project Engineer as well as the site field team and reports directly to the Vice President of Construction. The Project Manager must work to foster a great working relationship with the Project Engineer, Project Coordinator and entire field staff. This team is in constant contact and is working to actively manage the project until completion.

 

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Develop and maintain project schedule.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Direct monthly OAC meetings.
  • Review all sub-contractor AIA pay applications and produce and maintain Owner pay-application
  • Participate in monthly Budget review with Project Coordinator
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits.
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Act as Mentor to Project Engineers to further and assist their professional growth.
  • Assist in soliciting subcontractors and material vendors for project bids.
  • Write detailed scopes for sub-contracts
  • Attend coordination meetings with owners and project teams.
  • Communicate status of project schedule and budget to key project stakeholders.
  • Participate in final walk through and check list, including site visits.
  • Oversee subcontractor selections, RFIs, and submittals.

 

Preferred Skills include:

  • Be familiar with and utilize company’s software. Current software includes:
    • Procore
    • Microsoft Office
    • Microsoft Project
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Blue Beam Revu for electronic document mark-ups and onscreen take-offs.
    • Sage 300 for all project specific Estimating, Project Management, Job Cost and Accounting needs.
  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Affectively implement conflict resolution skills
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field (or equal experience in such)

 

 

To be successful in this role, you need a professional demeanor, and must be able to engage easily and actively connect with others. Have natural instincts for problem solving. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team and to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to all stakeholders. Clean professional appearance. Open to traveling if necessary.

This role requires standing, walking, or sitting for long periods of time, or entire shift.  Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (i.e. small print).  Grasp, turn and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, eight hours per day.
