Position Overview

The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at  Maple City is seeking a Director of Rehabilitation to oversee the Therapy Department and all therapy programs. This leadership role requires a licensed therapist, preferably a Physical Therapist, with a strong background in therapy management. As Director of Rehabilitation, you will manage the administration, scheduling, clinical planning, and development of the therapy services, ensuring the highest standard of care for our residents.

 

Key Responsibilities

Therapy Department Management

  • Oversee the administration, scheduling, and operations of the Therapy Department, ensuring the efficient delivery of Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) services.

  • Develop and implement clinical plans for patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

  • Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding therapy services.

  • Ensure all therapy services meet the required standards for quality care and outcomes.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with nursing and other clinical teams to develop and evaluate team goals for each patient.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to Therapy staff, offering instruction in PT, OT, and SLP models of care.

  • Provide ongoing support to staff, offering motivation and feedback for professional development.

  • Assist therapists as needed with challenging cases or during periods of high caseload.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Required: NYS licensed therapist (Physical Therapist preferred, Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will also be considered).

  • Minimum 2-years of management experience in long-term care therapy settings – preferred.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

  • Working knowledge of Medicare reimbursement, CMI (Case Mix Index), and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) management.
