Leadman (Weld Shop)

Job Summary:

The Weld Shop Leadman oversees welding operations in a manufacturing setting, ensuring high-quality finishes, adherence to production schedules, and compliance with safety standards. This role involves supervising a team of welders and technicians, managing materials, and maintaining equipment to support efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and Coordinate: Oversee daily welding operations, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.
• Assign Tasks & Lead Team: Distribute work assignments, train employees, and monitor performance to ensure efficiency.
• Quality Control: Inspect surfaces before and after the product is welded, ensuring proper application and adherence to specifications.
• Surface Preparation: Ensure materials are properly prepped, including sanding, priming, and masking, for optimal paint adhesion.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain spray guns, booths, and other painting equipment, ensuring proper function and minimizing downtime.
• Inventory & Material Management: Monitor supplies used by employees and managing the use of supplies. 
• Safety Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols, ensuring the proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance finish quality.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed work, material usage, and equipment maintenance logs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in industrial painting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.
• Understanding of safety regulations and hazardous material handling.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials for extended periods.
