Summary of Position

The Knudsten Foothills Mobile Service Technician is an important position within the Service Department.  The Mobile Tech will be providing on site vehicle repair and service by traveling in the Knudsten Foothills Service Vehicle to the customer’s desired location.  The Mobile Tech will diagnose issues, perform repairs and ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair services at customer locations, including routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements), diagnostics, and more complex repairs.  
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and diagnostic tests using Ford diagnostic tools (IDS/FDRS).
  • Communicate clearly with customers about services performed and future maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate service  and inventory records.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including service records and payment processing.  
  • Closely follow all safety and compliance protocols established by Ford and Knudsten Foothills.
  • Perform service department duties in the main shop when not on a Mobile Service job.
  • Represent the Ford Lincoln brand with professionalism and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician (Ford/Lincoln experience preferred)
  • Ford STARS training or ASE certifications highly desirable
  • Proficiency with Ford diagnostic systems (IDS, FDRS, OASIS)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a mobile service schedule
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Dexterity, requiring a stead hand, excellent hand eye-coordination
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment testing including background check and drug screening
  • Basic computer skills required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75-100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Team Members regularly works 45-50 hours per week.  While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
