Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring department operations run smoothly. Primarily assisting department team members in maximizing their levels of customer service delivery. The Commercial Team Lead will spend their time on 70% leadership tasks, 30% client management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years education or related experience in insurance, claims, etc.
  • Current applicable NC Department of Insurance License
  • Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the insurance industry

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides supervision, support, and guidance to the department this role oversees.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates work schedules of the team members; monitors flexible work schedules, PTO, and proper coverage of department workstations
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors up-to-date workflows and ensures that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks
  • Transmits information from carrier reps and help train on new products and procedures
  • Maintains accurate information for clients and carrier in Epic
  • Hires and trains new employees and retrains existing employees as needed
  • Maximizes level of customer service across entire department
  • Sets goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to subordinates
  • Monitors employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Receives complaints and resolves problems internally and externally
  • Prepares and submits performance reports
  • Maintains timekeeping of applicable employees
  • Performs all  functions of a client manager
  • Completes other assignments and special projects as assigned by management
  • Participates in employee discipline, write-ups, and terminations
  • Works closely with other Team Leads and resources to maximize efficiencies

 

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, stretch, and walk. Vision requirements include reading a computer monitor, peripheral vision, and the ability to look from screen to objects on desk to visitors walking in the door. Color vision needed. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Work is frequently performed inside a temperature-controlled office building. Level of noise varies in this fast-paced, busy work environment.
