What Makes Keepsake Different

Keepsake was built to reset the standard of care, and that starts with how we treat our caregivers.

  • Small, consistent care teams: you’ll get to know your clients and their families instead of rotating through strangers’ homes.
  • Respectful introductions: we personally introduce you to each new client, walk the home with you, and train the care plan the right way before you start.
  • We have your back: if a client or family member ever treats you inappropriately, you don’t have to put up with it. Call the office, and we will act.
  • Support when you need it: the office is open weekdays, and a Manager is on call after hours.
  • Modern tools: care plans, scheduling, clock-in, and visit notes all live in the AxisCare app on your phone.

What a Caregiver Does

As a Keepsake caregiver, you provide hands-on, non-medical support that helps clients maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities may include:

  • Building meaningful relationships through conversation, companionship, games, hobbies, and walks
  • Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other daily personal care
  • Helping with walking, transfers, and repositioning, following the care plan and your training
  • Preparing meals and assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, and linens
  • Running errands and driving clients to appointments, grocery runs, and outings
  • Giving medication reminders and helping prevent falls
  • Observing and recording changes in a client’s condition, mood, or behavior in AxisCare each visit
  • Following each client’s written care plan and communicating updates with the care team

Keepsake is a non-medical agency, so caregivers do not give medication or perform skilled nursing tasks.

Caregiver Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred, but not required (we train the right people)
  • Ability to pass the background and registry checks Nebraska requires for in-home caregivers
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and an acceptable driving record (transporting clients is part of the job)
  • A smartphone that can run the AxisCare app
  • Ability to speak and understand English, and to read and write well enough to document visits
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for long periods and lift or transfer up to 50 lb, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to treat clients with dignity, patience, and respect
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Punctual, dependable, and committed to high-quality care

Who We Are: Resetting the Standard of Care

Keepsake Home Care provides non-medical in-home care for every age and every stage of life in Lincoln and within 30 miles. We’re proudly locally owned and women-owned, and our name is new, but our team is not new to caring for families in this community.

Keepsake began with something our co-founder Lacy saw firsthand. She cared for a man living with Parkinson’s disease who was locked into rigid four-hour shifts by minimum scheduling requirements, while new caregivers rotated in and out of his home with no consistency. So we built a company designed around the client, not the agency: no minimum-hour requirements, one simple flat rate, and small, consistent care teams.

Our services include daily living assistance, companion care, household support, specialized memory care and Parkinson’s support, recovery support after surgery, illness, or injury, and transportation and errands.

Our mission is simple: care for our clients exceptionally well, and care for our caregivers just as thoughtfully.

Our Values

  • Compassion: we treat every client the way we would want our own family treated.
  • Integrity: we are honest, keep our word, and do the right thing when no one is watching.
  • Dependability: clients and families count on us to show up, on time, every time.
  • Respect: we honor each client’s home, choices, privacy, and dignity, and we treat one another the same way.
  • Communication: we speak up early, share what we see, and ask when we are unsure.
