Parts & Service Manager

Jerry's Auto Group is seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on Parts & Service Manager to lead and launch fixed operations at our brand-new Sioux Falls location.

In this dual-leadership role, you will be directly responsible for the daily performance, profitability, and operational excellence of both the Parts and Service departments. The ideal candidate brings a well-rounded automotive background across service advising, parts counter operations, and fixed operations management. Key Responsibilities

Service Department Leadership

• Manage all daily service drive workflows, technician dispatching, and customer touch points.

• Drive and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including technician efficiency, productivity, labor gross profit, and CSI scores.

• Ensure accurate estimates, timely status updates, and smooth repair order (RO) processing.

• Promptly address and resolve customer inquiries or concerns to maintain high retention and local reputation.

Parts Department Management

• Oversee parts inventory management, including stock levels, procurement, receipt, matrix pricing, and obsolescence control.

• Collaborate closely with technicians and advisors to guarantee quick parts turnaround for active shop repairs.

• Track parts department profitability, margins, and inventory turn rates.

• Maintain clean, organized storage and precise inventory counts.

Team Leadership & Culture

• Recruit, train, mentor, and hold parts and service staff accountable to clear performance benchmarks.

• Cultivate a clean, safe, efficient, and team-oriented shop environment.

• Lead daily operations by example with drive, determination, accountability, and customer empathy.

Financial & Facility Operations

• Oversee departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and maximize gross profit across both departments.

• Review daily/monthly operational reports to pinpoint bottlenecks and implement sustainable workflow solutions.

• Ensure dealership compliance with safety protocols, local regulations, and company procedures.

• Work directly with executive leadership to support brand growth in the Sioux Falls market.

Qualifications

Required:

• Proven experience as an automotive Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager.

• Hands-on background in service advising and parts counter/inventory operations.

• In-depth understanding of automotive fixed operations and technician workflow dynamics.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage a technical and customer-facing team.

• Strong communication, customer dispute resolution, and interpersonal skills.

• Self-starter capable of operating autonomously in a newly opened facility.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.

Preferred:

• Previous experience managing dual parts and service operations.

• Proficiency in modern Dealership Management Systems (DMS) and service lane software.

• Working knowledge of P&L management, forecasting, and labor matrix optimization.

• ASE certifications or OEM factory certifications.

• Familiarity with specialty, classic, or collector vehicle service.

Work Environment & Expectations

This role is based on-site at our new Sioux Falls facility. Periodic travel to Jerry's Auto Group sister locations may occur for leadership meetings, training, and operational alignment. This is an active, fast-paced management position requiring regular interaction with technicians, customers, vendors, and senior management.
