Part-Time Home Health Aide (VA Client)

Location: Ashville, AL

Schedule: 5 Hours per Day | 4 Days per Week ( Prefer M-W-F)
Pay: $15-18/hour

Interim HealthCare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Home Health Aide to provide in-home support to a VA client. This part-time position is ideal for a caregiver who values consistency, professionalism, and delivering quality care to our Veterans.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care activities, including bathing/showering, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.

  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as dusting, sweeping, kitchen cleaning, and dish washing...

  • Provide support with instrumental activities of daily living, including bed making and linen changes, laundry, and meal preparation...

  • Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote emotional well-being.

  • Support daily routines to enhance overall health, safety, and quality of life.

  • Run client errands as assigned.

  • Monitor fall risks and maintain a safe home environment.

  • Observe, document, and promptly report changes in the client’s condition to agency staff.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older

  • Evidence of passing a Home Health Aide written knowledge exam

  • Pass required federal and state criminal and abuse background checks


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with clinical and non-clinical staff

  • Ability to read, write, and verbally report patient information to patients, families, and agency staff

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks

  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)

  • Proof of valid auto liability insurance if transporting client


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in patient’s home

  • Frequent travel within service area

  • Must meet health requirements per applicable law or regulation

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infectious materials; must follow safety precautions and use protective equipment as required

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently

  • Ability to lift, reposition, and transfer clients

  • Ability to carry groceries, laundry, and household items

  • Medium physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
