Hospice Office Managers enjoy some notable benefits:

As an Office Manager, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

  • Lead full-cycle onboarding and recruiting support, including background checks, drug screenings, new hire setup in HRIS/ADP, and coordination of orientation and onboarding experiences.
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for HRIS and payroll operations, ensuring accurate timekeeping, compliance with wage and hour laws, and timely processing of payroll, reporting, and employee verifications.
  • Support employee benefits administration and performance management processes, including enrollments, reconciliations, and tracking goal setting and evaluations through HR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements by maintaining employee records, tracking licenses and certifications, supporting audits, and keeping policies, job descriptions, and labor law postings up to date.
  • Provide general HR and office management support, including employee relations, terminations, recognition programs, administrative coordination, and supervision of office staff and daily operations.
  • Oversee billing and operational functions, including payer authorizations, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, reporting, and coordination with internal teams and external partners to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

 

A few must-haves for Office Managers:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or Healthcare Administration preferred (or equivalent experience), with 5+ years of progressive HR experience—healthcare or homecare experience preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, wage and hour compliance, benefits administration, and HR policies and procedures, along with 3+ years of Accounts Payable/Receivable experience
  • Proficiency with HRIS (ADP preferred), EMR systems (Axxess preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate reports and analyze data effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization and present information clearly
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to analyze data, support decision-making, and handle sensitive information with integrity
