At Interim HealthCare of Columbia, we believe in delivering compassionate, clinically sound care that supports independence and dignity at home. As part of our growing clinical team, we are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) certified as a Delegating Nurse to oversee medication administration, caregiver training, and perform client assessments in compliance with Maryland state regulations.
Position Summary
The Delegating Nurse (RN) is responsible for conducting initial nursing assessments, delegating nursing tasks, and supervising unlicensed personnel in both home and residential care settings. This role ensures caregivers are trained and competent, and that care plans are accurate, updated, and aligned with client needs.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct initial nursing assessments for new clients to determine care needs, including clinical evaluation and development of individualized care plans.

Perform 45-day, 90-day, and annual reassessments to ensure continued appropriateness of care and update care plans as needed.

Delegate nursing tasks and medication administration duties to certified caregivers and medication technicians.

Evaluate caregiver competency through skills checks, observations, and documentation review.

Provide ongoing training on safe medication administration, infection control, and other delegated nursing duties.

Maintain compliance with Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) and COMAR regulations.

Collaborate with families, case managers, and agency staff to ensure client safety and satisfaction.

Document assessments, delegation records, caregiver evaluations, and client status accurately and promptly.
Qualifications

Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current Delegating Nurse certification approved by MBON.

At least 2 years of nursing experience (home care, assisted living, or geriatrics preferred).

Strong knowledge of COMAR and delegation practices.

Excellent documentation, teaching, and communication skills.

Reliable transportation for in-home visits and facility assessments.
Schedule & Compensation

Flexible schedule (PRN or part-time, 10–20+ hours/week based on availability).

Pay range: $35–$40/hour, depending on experience and shift type.

Mileage reimbursement and supportive administrative team.
