Job Summary
Interim Healthcare - Columbia, MD is looking for an experienced, dependable, and licensed PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing team on a contractor basis. The PRN Registered Nurse will deliver quality nursing care to fulfill the mission of Interim Healthcare through active communication and collaboration with other members of the Interim Healthcare team.

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers a competitive hourly rate, varying between $35 and $40 per hour. The PRN Registered Nurse will receive remuneration in accordance with the diagnosis and procedures assigned for individual patients. In addition, we offer an individual benefit package, including flexible working hours, paid time off, and subsidized transportation costs.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed assessment of patient needs, including physical, psychological, and social elements.

• Create, revise, and implement patient care plans, implementing appropriate treatments and interventions.

• Monitor progress of patients and modify treatment plans as needed.

• Update patient health records and maintain a well-organized filing system

• Document all professional services as applicable.

• Follow legal, organizational, and medical ethical guidelines.

• Answer patient questions and address patient concerns in a timely manner.

• Provide support to families and caregivers as needed.

Clinical Care:

  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of clients to identify their nursing care needs.

  • Develop and update individualized care plans based on assessments and physician’s orders.

  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.

  • Provide education to clients and families on managing health conditions and treatment plans.

Case Management:

  • Coordinate care among interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.

  • Monitor and evaluate client progress, ensuring that care plans remain effective and appropriate.

  • Advocate for clients by addressing their concerns and ensuring their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in compliance with agency policies and state regulations.

RN Delegation:

  • Assess the skills and competency of unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) before delegating tasks.

  • Provide training, supervision, and periodic evaluations to UAP to ensure safe and effective task performance.

  • Delegate and oversee tasks such as medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and other care activities permitted under state regulations.

  • Act as a resource and support for caregivers, addressing questions and concerns related to delegated tasks.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, including those set by the state Board of Nursing.

  • Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.

  • Stay current with best practices, emerging trends, and legal requirements in home health care.



Requirements

• An active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland with Delegation
• 3+ years of experience as an RN.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience in wound care, intravenous therapy, and home health a plus.
• CPR/BLS and other certifications/training as required.
