About the Role

Huntington Learning Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our students and families. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, supportive environment while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the center. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, excels at customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced setting where no two days are exactly the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet students, parents, and visitors with professionalism and enthusiasm, creating a positive and welcoming experience
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to parent and prospective family inquiries
  • Assist walk-in visitors by providing information about Huntington's programs and collecting contact information for prospective families
  • Administer academic evaluations and testing for students
  • Monitor and process academic evaluation notifications and scheduling requests received via email
  • Prepare materials and conference binders for enrollment meetings with families
  • Send reminders, updates, and other communications to families via email and text
  • Schedule student practice tests and manage related logistics
  • Coordinate student completion procedures, including certificates and recognition gifts
  • Organize and oversee the center's Reading Adventure program and other student engagement initiatives
  • Order, organize, and maintain office supplies and administrative materials
  • Update center displays, information boards, and other parent-facing communications
  • Support daily center operations and assist with additional administrative projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Friendly, professional, and customer-service-oriented demeanor
  • Enjoys working with children and families
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and comfortable learning new software systems

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday 4:30–8:30 PM
  • Saturday 8:30 AM–3:30 PM 

This is an in-person position based at our learning center and is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with families while helping students achieve their academic goals.
