Stepping Forward Technology is currently seeking a detail oriented and humble Jr Systems Administrator who is passionate about learning IT and implementing IT best practices standards across multiple organizations.

This professional position provides growth opportunities as you will be cross trained by the best and brightest in the industry and exposed to all types of environments and systems. As you continue to grow, we will train you in network and server risk identification, how to lower/reduce reactive issues on the network and align our client’s technology with our standards. Stepping Forward Technology Culture

As our Jr Systems Administrator, your responsibilities with include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Perform remote and onsite Technology Alignment Reviews with our best practice standards
  • Improve documentation of our client’s IT environment
  • Complete our monthly proactive checklist per client
  • Help build our Standards Library
  • Identify reactive issue trends and how to address them proactively
  • Identify technical risks in the environment
  • Work first shift, Monday through Friday – with an agreed upon schedule offering flexibility with HYBRID flexibility after 90 days of employment
  • Perform manual maintenance after hours when required 
  • Work closely with the vCIO to strategize and lower technology risks 
  • Develop relationships with our clients’ primary contact 

A Day in the Life… 

  • Morning meeting with the client: What’s on your list? What’s on ours? Any discussion points? 
  • Complete proactive tasks: Standards & Alignment Review and Checklists. 
  • End of day follow-up: Send the “Technology Summary” report outlining your key findings.

Our ideal Jr Systems Administrator candidate will have the following: 

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting IT in enterprise and cloud environments
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent ability to document, manage, prioritize, organize, and follow-through with your work
  • Eagerness to grow and take opportunities to learn both inside and outside the work environment
  • A humble attitude, willing to learn from mistakes and others
  • A teachable spirit and desire to learn from others
  • High School Diploma/GED required; bachelor’s degree – strongly preferred
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement)
  • Strong initiative, able to be a self-starter but also a supportive team-player.
  • High level of customer service, professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality 

Certifications we love:

  • A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, MCSE, MCSA (all helpful, but not required)
