Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant Manager oversees Hotel Indigo's Restaurant, Bar & Banquet functions within the hotel to ensure we maintain high standards of food and beverage quality and service. Directly supervise the Food & Beverage Manager and the Food & Beverage Supervisor plus work closely with the Chef to plan and implement budgets, hire, train and supervise staff and apply relevant marketing principles to assure that the wants and needs of guests are consistently exceeded.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership and management for all food & beverage team members throughout restaurant, bar and lounge concepts and banquets
  • Work with Executive Chef in the development of menus and pricing strategies
  • Oversee wine and spirits program 
  • Establish, implement and maintain appropriate internal controls designed to maximize efficiency and meet/exceed budgeted financial targets
  • Cash handling procedures and compliance across all outlets
  • Partner with Executive Chef, Sales & Marketing, Catering and others on regular strategic re-design and/or re-concept of outlets, menus, etc. in order to remain ahead of local trends and guest demand
  • Communicate and collaborate with other hotel departments including Sales, Restaurants, Catering, etc. to ensure seamless guest service and creative solutions to venue and event opportunities
  • As a member of the hotel's management assist with overall leadership and guidance for the entire property ensuring consistent success across all departments
  • Solicit local group Food & Beverage business; maintain the services and reputation of the Hotel and act as a management representative to group clients
  • Continuously evaluate the performance and encourage improvement of the personnel in the food and beverage department
  • Place weekly alcohol orders for outlets and negotiate pricing with suppliers
  • Must be able to multi-task and display ability to recognize that the guests' interests and needs are always primary. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to access a variety of venues throughout property

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Hotel & Restaurant Management preferred
  • Minimum 5 years Restaurant leadership experience in a full-service boutique or luxury hotel environment with in-depth interaction with customers required
  • Successful experience implementing and managing cost and expense controls required
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of standard restaurant and bar operations technology including Aloha, Micros, and Open Table needed 
  • Must be able to communicate professionally in English, both written and verbal. Conversational abilities in Spanish also desired
