We are looking for a Care Professional Manager to lead the Care Professional employment experience from onboarding, through training & development, engagement, performance management, recognition, and retention. This role builds a dependable, skilled, and engaged Care Professional team so clients and families receive consistent, high-quality care. 

The Care Professional Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works collaboratively with Recruiting, Scheduling, Client Care, Human Resources, and other members of the office and corporate teams. This position serves as a primary leader, coach, and resource for Care Professionals, providing support while maintaining clear expectations and accountability for performance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partner with the office Recruiter to maintain a disciplined, timely hiring process; participate in interviews and assess candidates for experience, reliability, communication, availability, professional judgment, learning agility, and alignment with Love (v.).
  • Set clear and honest expectations about the work, including client needs, scheduling, travel, attendance, documentation, professional boundaries, teamwork, and performance standards.
  • Create a welcoming transition from recruiting into employment and ensure required screening, documentation, orientation, and initial training are completed before independent assignment.
  • Serve as the primary supervisor for our team of caregivers, building trusted relationships through regular contact, active listening, recognition, timely follow-up, and completion of required employee touchpoints.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide timely coaching and feedback regarding attendance, communication, conduct, documentation, caregiving skills, teamwork, and quality of care.
  • Manage performance concerns and corrective action using clear expectations, measurable next steps, appropriate resources, and follow-up; partner with the General Manager and HR on suspensions, terminations, and significant employee relations concerns.
  • Recognize strong performance, identify Care Professionals ready for additional development or Lead Care Professional opportunities, and promote and manage employee referrals.
  • Lead Care Professional orientation, ongoing education, annual requirements, performance reviews, skills refreshers, and hands-on competency validation.
  • Teach and evaluate essential care practices, including safe mobility and transfers, personal care, dementia support, professional boundaries, documentation, and use of relevant equipment.
  • Conduct field observations and competency assessments as needed; develop retraining or improvement plans and verify competency when performance or skill gaps are identified.
  • Partner with Scheduling and Client Care to prepare Care Professionals for assignments, address client-fit or performance concerns, and support continuity and quality of care.
  • Respond to Care Professional-related complaints and client concerns objectively; investigate issues, provide appropriate coaching or retraining, document findings, and escalate significant safety, legal, ethical, or employee relations concerns.
  • Review Care Professional injuries, incidents, and near misses; ensure timely documentation and follow-up, reinforce safe work practices, and partner with the General Manager and HR on safety trends and risk reduction.
  • Use turnover, retention, engagement, touchpoint, training, and satisfaction results to identify trends and implement practical improvements.
  • Maintain timely, factual, objective, and confidential employee records and consistently apply company policies and employment practices.
  • Maintain flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend introductions, training, meetings, or urgent Care Professional needs, and perform other responsibilities reasonably related to the role.

  • Quality and timeliness of coaching, performance management, and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of people-management experience, including direct supervision of frontline employees, performance coaching, corrective action, and employee relations.
  • Strong interviewing, coaching, decision-making, and difficult-conversation skills.
  • Excellent professional judgment, emotional intelligence, organization, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust across a diverse frontline workforce.
  • Ability to use workforce data—including retention, engagement, training, and performance information—to identify issues and take practical action.
  • Comfortable learning and using applicant tracking, scheduling, learning, communication, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Ability and willingness to learn, demonstrate, teach, and evaluate essential caregiving skills.
