As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Hireology, you will be a technical leader in designing and building dynamic, responsive web applications using Next.js and related technologies. You'll focus on creating fast, scalable, and accessible solutions that enhance user engagement. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers, you’ll ensure the seamless delivery of intuitive features and modern interfaces.  This role will also be expected to migrate from legacy technologies such as Ruby on Rails and prior versions of React.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable web applications using Next.js and React.
  • Leverage Next.js features like server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and API routes to optimize performance and SEO.
  • Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using Tailwind CSS and Tailwind UI.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs.
  • Optimize applications for Core Web Vitals and overall speed and scalability.
  • Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices.
  • Integrate seamlessly with RESTful and GraphQL APIs for efficient data management.
  • Mentor junior engineers, offering guidance on frontend best practices and code quality.
  • Stay current with trends in frontend development, including emerging technologies and frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and encourage team growth.
  • Migrate legacy user interfaces from Ruby on Rails and older versions of React to a modern technology stack.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional frontend development experience, including at least 2 years with Next.js.
  • Advanced proficiency in React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Expertise in Next.js features such as SSR, SSG, dynamic routing, and API routes.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Proven experience with Tailwind CSS and Tailwind UI Components for creating polished interfaces.
  • Familiarity with state management solutions such as Redux, Context API, or Recoil.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in modern frontend ecosystems.
  • Experience working with Git and version control workflows in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in TypeScript for type-safe development.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Testing Library.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and deployment tools like Vercel.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and best practices for optimizing Core Web Vitals.
  • Familiarity with modern authentication methods (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
