About the Role:

Supervises the day-to-day operation of Picnix food service, merchandise area, and employees.  The shift leader is responsible in overseeing that all uniform, food, and service standards are maintained at all times.  In addition, the Picnix shift leader is to see that daily cleaning and upkeep of the general area, and equipment is maintained at all times.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs and participates in the service and preparation of all food and beverage. Restocks merchandise items that are sold in Picnix, as well as other day to day activities.

 

  • Ensures that Hilton Service Standards are maintained at all times.
  • Achieves day-to-day guest satisfaction.  In the event of a dissatisfied guest, tactfully negotiates the guests’ needs through Management decisions.

 

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.

 

  • Performs general cleaning tasks, as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Abides by all Federal, State, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
  • Maintains an open line of communication between guests, management, and line employees.
  • Consults with Outlet Manager or Director of Food and Beverage, in Outlet Manager’s absence, regarding line level disciplinary actions/needs.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Knows and understands basic management skills such as scheduling and training team members.

 

  • Ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict situations with dissatisfied guests.
  • Well informed of food service operations.
  • Ability to learn and understand food service operations.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus, special promotions, and communicate with guests.
  • Ability to learn and understand the MICROS point-of -sale system and train our team members on it.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces.
  • Understand system of weights and measures.
  • Ability to operate kitchen and food service equipment.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all charges, and understand portion sizes as related to prices.
  • Ability to understand the First In First Out (FIFO) method of product rotation.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. High School Diploma preferred.

Experience:

Prior food and beverage supervisory experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certificates:

Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
