About the Role:

To transport and clean cooking utensils and service ware in order to provide cooks, buss persons, and food servers with appropriate equipment for guests' dining experience. Also, requires cleaning of physical surroundings.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Sorts soiled ware promptly and carefully so that it can be put through the dish or pot machine properly. Washes all ware quickly and replace storage areas as designated.
  • Follows Hotel procedures to ensure proper finish on silverware.
  • Assists in the planning, pulling, and execution of items for Banquet functions.
  • Detarnishes and polishes silver for proper appearance.
  • Cleans kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans promptly and completely, so Cooks can carry out their work.
  • Keeps dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per Hotel standards.

 

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, at the discretion of the manager based on the particular requirements of the hotel.

 

  • Performs general and routine cleaning tasks using standard Hotel cleaning products, as assigned, to adhere to health standards.
  • Cleans and dries floors to avoid slip and fall accidents.
  • Separates linen from other debris.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.

 

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Knowledge of service ware and how to maintain same in order to compliment guest experience.
  • Ability to push and/or pull service carts weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Ability to read the English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices, and similar written materials.
  • Ability to transport heavy objects through a crowded room.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart or truck weighing a maximum of 300 lbs.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities. High school education preferred.

Experience:

No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

Licenses and Certificates:

Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
