Hilbish Ford is looking for an experienced Used Car Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair pre-owned vehicles to help ensure they are safe, reliable, and ready for the road.

We're seeking a technician with strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities, a positive attitude, and a commitment to doing the job right. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship and is comfortable working on a wide range of makes and models. Because our used vehicle inventory is diverse, success in this role requires the ability to adapt, troubleshoot effectively, and deliver consistent, high-quality repairs across different vehicle brands and systems.

Automotive Used Cars Technician Responsibilities:   

  • Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to assess overall condition
  • Identify and document any mechanical, electrical, or safety issues
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other vehicle systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet or exceed industry standards
  • Other duties assigned   

Automotive Used Cars Technician Requirements:   

  • Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred
  • Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models
  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians
  • Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines
  • Must pass pre-employment background screenings
