Entry Level Service Technician

Hempstead Ford is looking for a motivated Entry Level Service Technician to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity for someone who has at least 6 months of hands-on automotive experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.

The day-to-day responsibilities include performing work on assigned repair orders, diagnosing vehicle concerns, and learning alongside experienced technicians to continue developing your skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards

  • Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning

  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor regarding vehicle findings and any additional service needs

  • Provide accurate estimates of time needed for additional repairs

  • Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications

  • Learn from experienced technicians and continue developing diagnostic and repair skills

  • Stay current on new technology, repair procedures, and manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of hands-on automotive experience REQUIRED

  • Ford Certification preferred

  • State Inspector License Required

  • Previous Ford dealership experience preferred

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical dexterity

  • Basic computer skills

  • Motivated to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in automotive

  • Eagerness to improve technical skills and take on additional responsibilities

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and specifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
