Service Technician

The Service Technician plays a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle automotive systems with precision and expertise. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of vehicles through their technical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Efficiently and accurately perform work outlined on repair orders
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle automotive systems
  • Coordinate with the parts department to acquire necessary parts
  • Inspect vehicles to assess if additional safety or service work is needed
  • Promptly inform service advisor if extra outlined work is unnecessary
  • Immediately alert service advisor if repairs cannot be completed as promised
  • Document all work carried out
  • Conduct road-tests on vehicles when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shop area
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations
  • Offer estimates for labor and time on additional automotive repairs
  • Clearly explain mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs to service advisors and customers
  • Participate in formal training sessions to learn new technical information and techniques in response to rapidly changing technology
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Compliance with the company's uniform policy
  • Prior auto repair experience required
  • Previous experience in a Dealership service department is a plus
  • Must be a team player, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Familiarity with shop equipment is a necessity
  • Applicant must provide their own tools
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are crucial
  • Expected to have a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility in schedule is essential, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
