Hawaiian Building Maintenance was founded in 1957 in Honolulu as a janitorial services company. As Hawai’i’s commercial landscape evolved, so did we.
Over the decades, HBM expanded its capabilities to meet the growing needs of property owners and managers — moving from single-service delivery to integrated building support across multiple disciplines. Today, HBM operates as a full-service asset services partner, supporting performance, reliability, and long-term value across the Hawaiian Islands.

We currently perform janitorial building services, mechanical engineering, HVAC and maintenance services for numerous commercial, retail and residential properties on Kaua'i, O'ahu, Maui and Hawai'i island. We also offer restoration services for various issues, including water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation on Oahu. -Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM or 4:30PM - 9:30PM

-Compensation per hour: $16.00 

-Key Responsibilities

Effectively communicate in English with team members and property managers to ensure smooth operations and a collaborative work environment.

Maintain cleanliness of all common areas within the building, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, and carpet cleaning.

Remove and properly dispose of trash in designated areas to maintain a sanitary environment.

Clean restrooms, walk paths, and restock necessary supplies to ensure all areas meet high standards of hygiene and appearance.

Stand and walk for extended periods while performing cleaning tasks with attention to detail and thoroughness.

Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines to promote a safe workplace.

Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.)

Perform any additional duties as assigned to support overall building maintenance and team success.

-Skills/Qualifications:

Must pass HBM prescreen check

High school diploma or GED preferred

Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with team members and management.

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Willingness to follow all safety protocols and report any issues promptly.

Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, press, push, pull, frequently lift 40lbs, carry a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down the stairs and use a ladder climb up and down and stand throughout their shifts.
