Caregiver PSS (Full-Time) | Guaranteed Weekly Hours

Hands at Home Care Services is seeking a dependable and compassionate Caregiver Coverage Specialist to join our team. This position is designed for caregivers who enjoy helping where they are needed most while maintaining reliable weekly earnings.

Unlike traditional caregiving roles, this position provides a guaranteed minimum of 25 paid hours each week. If a scheduled client visit is canceled, alternative paid assignments such as training, mentoring, shadow shifts, or office support will be provided whenever available to maintain your scheduled hours.

What You'll Do

As a Personal Support Specialist, you will assist clients with a variety of non-medical home care services, including:

• Personal care assistance
• Mobility support and transfers
• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Companionship and social engagement
• Transportation assistance
• Temporary coverage for clients when their regular caregiver is unavailable

Schedule Expectations

• Primarily daytime weekday hours
• Occasional weekend availability may be requested
• Typical shifts occur between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM
• Additional hours may be available based on client needs
• Major holidays generally observed, with optional holiday shifts available

Travel Requirements

This position serves clients throughout Portland and nearby communities.

Applicants should be comfortable traveling within the service area and supporting multiple client locations as needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided for eligible travel.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least one year of caregiving experience preferred
• Experience in home care, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to successfully pass a background screening
• Ability to safely assist clients with mobility and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Current immunization documentation, including MMR, Varicella, and annual influenza vaccination records
