Griswold Home Care for Oklahoma City North is seeking dependable, compassionate, and attentive Caregivers who take pride in helping seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

Our Caregivers often work independently in clients’ homes, which means we are looking for people who demonstrate good judgment, reliability, initiative, professionalism, and genuine respect for the people they serve.

This is more than simply being present with a client. Our clients and their families depend on our Caregivers to actively provide the care, companionship, supervision, and household assistance outlined in each client’s care plan.

What You Will Do

Depending on the client’s individual care plan, responsibilities may include:

• Providing companionship and meaningful interaction
• Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and other activities of daily living
• Preparing meals and assisting with groceries
• Laundry and changing linens
• Light housekeeping, including kitchens, bathrooms, dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
• Assisting clients with mobility and routine daily activities
• Providing supervision and companionship for clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, or cognitive impairment
• Observing changes in a client’s condition, behavior, or environment and promptly reporting concerns
• Completing accurate and timely shift documentation
• Following the client’s care/service plan and instructions provided by Griswold Home Care

• Arrive on time and are dependable for scheduled assignments.
• Stay attentive and engaged with the client throughout the shift.
• Take appropriate initiative without waiting to be reminded about routine responsibilities.
• Respect that every client has different preferences, routines, and expectations.
• Follow reasonable client requests that are consistent with the assigned care plan.
• Professionally accept direction from clients, family members, and the Griswold office.
• Ask the office for guidance when they are unsure whether a requested task is appropriate.
• Recognize safety concerns and respond promptly.
• Communicate changes or concerns instead of ignoring them or making independent changes to the client’s care plan.
• Treat every client and home with dignity, patience, respect, and professionalism.

Dementia and Memory-Care Assignments

Some Griswold clients live with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss, or other cognitive impairments.

These assignments may require:

• Close observation and supervision
• Patience and redirection
• Awareness of wandering or exit-seeking behavior
• Immediate response to safety concerns
• Consistent routines and calm communication

Caregivers assigned to these clients must remain attentive and follow the client-specific care and safety instructions provided by Griswold.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation to assigned client locations is required.
• Previous professional caregiving, home-care, assisted-living, CNA, personal-care, or similar experience is strongly preferred.
• Relevant experience caring for a family member or loved one will also be considered.
• Candidates without professional caregiving experience must demonstrate strong reliability, judgment, communication skills, and successful completion of required training before independent placement.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Griswold office.
• Must be able to complete required shift documentation accurately and on time.
• Must successfully complete applicable background checks, registry screenings, and other pre-employment requirements.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position, with reasonable accommodation where required by law.

This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If...

Because our Caregivers work independently in our clients’ homes, this position may not be the right fit if you:

• Prefer to decide which assigned tasks you will or will not perform without consulting the office.
• Have difficulty accepting direction or feedback.
• Are frequently unavailable for scheduled shifts.
• Prefer a position where you can remain disengaged unless the client specifically asks for assistance.
• Are uncomfortable assisting with personal care or light housekeeping.
• Are unable to remain attentive to clients who require supervision.
