Job Title: Male Caregiver Needed for FT AM Shifts- Days needed are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday we are also looking on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (Nightshift) 12 hrs 8p-8a 

*** Candidate Must Be Flexible For Days and Night shifts as this is a 24/7 care client*****Caregiver must be either willing to travel to Laguna Woods*****

Shift: Days (8AM-8PM) Open Shifts- This would be a consistent schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday  Night shift Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (8p-8a) 

Pay: $19–$25 per hour (depending on experience, skills, length of employment, and education)

Bonus Structure: $250 New Hire Bonus will be paid when the caregiver works 150 hours with this client and you must be in good standing to be eligible for the bonus. 

Job Summary:
Griswold Home Care – Laguna Hills is currently hiring a male caregiver for an a strong male CNA/Caregiver in Laguna Woods, CA area. The strong CNA/Caregiver is a client request. We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and engaging professional to provide attentive care and ensure client safety throughout the night.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide daytime supervision and ensure client safety
  • Assist with toileting, mobility, and daily routines
  • Reposition client as needed for comfort and care
  • Assist with transfers as needed- Client uses transfer board but caregiver/CNA must be willing and able to assist client with stand pivot transfers. 
  • Monitor changes in condition and report to care team
  • Perform light housekeeping related to client care
  • Accurately document care provided during shift

Qualifications:

  • Male caregiver (required due to client preference)
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience working with a licensed home care agency (required)
  • Per client request: Only candidates with professional home care agency experience will be considered. Experience limited to private caregiving or caring for family members will not qualify. Applicants must have prior or current employment with a home care agency.
  • Must be willing and able to safely assist with transfers for a client weighing approximately 150–200 lbs (client can assist)
  • Strong communication skills must be able to communicate verbally and in writing and accurately document care in English
  • Friendly personality with a great sense of humor (client enjoys joking and engaging conversation)
  • Must be able to stay awake and alert during entire shift
  • Reliable, patient, and professional
  • CPR/First Aid certification (required) 
  • Reliable transportation

Requirements for the Position:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing: Must have an HCA ID # and eligibility letter through the CA Department of Social Services
  • TB Test: Current copy of TB results within the last year (and annually thereafter).
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience working with seniors in a home care setting is preferred
  • Knowledge: Must be willing to learn about chronic conditions, or have experience/expertise in dementia or Alzheimer's-related diseases.
  • Transportation: A valid driver's license and car insurance are required, as transportation services are part of the job.
  • Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and become active on the California Home Care Registry.
  • References: At least four professional references who can speak to your experience as a caregiver, along with two personal references.
