About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Estate Sales Assistant to join our expanding team on a part-time Basis. In this supportive role, you will work closely with the Sale Manager and Estate Sales Leads, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of our estate sales and business liquidations. This is an excellent opportunity for an eager individual who is looking to learn the ropes of a unique and fast-paced industry, contribute to a dynamic team, and grow their skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities of an Estate Sales Assistant:

  • Sale Preparation: Assist in preparing sale sites, including carefully removing items from storage, helping to stage merchandise for presentation, and learning how to effectively price items.
  • Support the placement of clear and effective signage, both within the property and externally, adhering to Grasons brand standards.
  • During the Sale: Engage with customers in a helpful and courteous manner, assisting with inquiries and sales. Learn to identify and assist in pricing items missed during the initial preparation. Assist in tracking sales transactions and helping to restage items to maintain an appealing presentation.
  • Support the team in addressing on-site challenges and customer concerns as they arise.
  • Post-Sale Activities: Assist with the efficient breakdown of sale setups, help coordinate the removal of any remaining debris or unsold items, and ensure all Grasons signage is retrieved at the end of each sale day.
  • Execute any additional tasks or directives provided by the Sale Manager or Estate Sales Lead to ensure the smooth and successful completion of each sale.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • No prior experience in sales or secondary consumer markets is required; we are looking for a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with the public.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that may vary based on the needs of the business and individual sales.
  • Basic computer skills; willingness to learn point-of-sale (POS) systems (preferably Square).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to get to sales across Dakota county on time.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various sale locations within a 30-mile radius of Apple Valley, MN.
