What You’ll Do
The IT Application Manager leads the Applications team responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Grand River Health’s clinical and business systems. This role ensures reliable daily operations, strong system performance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities. It also provides leadership for project delivery, team development, and continuous improvement across a complex healthcare IT environment.
- Oversees daily operations of assigned applications to ensure stability, security, and performance.
- Leads and develops a team of analysts supporting clinical, financial, and interface systems.
- Manages application projects from planning through execution, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget alignment.
- Serves as escalation point for complex system issues, outages, and vendor coordination.
- Partners with department leaders to prioritize work and align system support with. operational needs.
- Drives process improvement, compliance, and documentation standards across application services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a seasoned healthcare IT professional who can bridge clinical, financial, and technical worlds while leading a high-performing applications team. The ideal candidate brings deep application support experience, strong leadership ability, and a solid understanding of healthcare workflows and regulatory requirements. This role is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex system challenges.
- Background in healthcare application support with hands-on experience in configuration, implementation, and training.
- Proven success in leading or supervising technical teams within a healthcare or enterprise IT environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical and financial workflows within integrated healthcare systems.
- Experience working with interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CCD.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks including HIPAA, NIST, and data governance practices.
- Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
