Tax Manager

Gould Killian CPA Group, P.A. is searching for an experienced tax manager to join our team! Gould Killian is located in the artistic, up and coming South Slope Neighborhood of downtown Asheville, North Carolina at the historic Sawyer Motor Building. We have served clients in Asheville and Western North Carolina, around the country and around the world since 1967.  Gould Killian has a high quality client base with very long-term professional relationships. 

Inside the walls of the historic Sawyer Motor Building, a former car dealer and service plaza built in 1926 is a firm of around 35 staff members, as well as our affiliate financial advisory practice, Altamont Capital Management. LLC. Our staff members have varied interests including outdoor activities, music, sports and enjoying Asheville’s diverse artistic culture. Additionally, many of our staff serve the Asheville community, volunteering with non-profit organizations around Western North Carolina. 

We believe this mix of unique location, diverse workforce and the close professional working relationships of the staff of both firms informs the quality work and problem solving that we perform for clients. Managers in our firm are the core of helping to lead and direct clients and staff in Gould Killian.

Compensation and Benefits:

•    Base salary - $90-120k Depending on Experience

Job Description: 

Managers in our practice supervise and review the work of staff accountants, interact with and assist clients, as well as being involved in high level planning and consultation for clients in collaboration with the partner in charge. Managers are expected to be experts in their practice areas and accordingly will often choose a specialty. Managers work closely with the partner in charge to provide high-quality, responsive service to clients. Managers are expected to mentor staff accountants and help with their development. This is an in-person position at our office in downtown Asheville, with the capability for some remote work and flexible schedule. 

Licenses and Core Competencies: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required, master’s degree encouraged
•    Active current CPA license
•    4 or more years of experience
