E-Commerce Specialist (fulltime)

Responsible for all duties as assigned by the ECommerce Manager including examining products for value/condition/functionality, taking clear photographs, preparing written product descriptions, assisting customers, understanding auction inventory processes, and preparing goods for shipment.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Product Knowledge
- As auction lister: writes item descriptions to accompany photos and proofreads for accuracy, spelling, and grammar; posts auctions to online platforms including shopgoodwill.com, eBay, and others.
- As package shipper: processes/picks customer orders, securely packs merchandise for handling and delivery, correctly weighs and labels packages. Requires using web-based software, attention to detail, organizational skills, and personal pacing for production goals.
- As intake processor: evaluates and researches incoming goods using internet and other resources, creates listing tickets in software app, and prepares items for photography/listing. Works efficiently, stays organized, and properly credits suppliers for goods.
- As photographer: inspects and photographs items for online sale, capturing measurements, damage, and features, as required. Works quickly and efficiently to support auction listing.
- As jewelry processor: sorts and evaluates mixed jewelry for sales potential and value, creates saleable lots, tests/identifies gemstones and precious metals, provides detailed summaries for listers, photographs auctions, and understands the importance of accuracy and clarity.
Customer Service
- Provides listing accuracy and clarity to minimize customer service inquiries; supports customer service designee with responses, arranging returns, or issuing refunds, as needed.
- Always responsive and respectful towards others within the organization. Communicates clearly and effectively. Displays appropriate behavior with fellow employees, customers, and visitors.
Other
- Maintains and monitors productivity in any role assigned, meeting or exceeding established goals; works efficiently while always organized/prepared for assigned role and supporting team members.
- May be required to move inventory using pallet jack to aid in keeping inventory organized.
- Consistently follows established safety rules. Reports safety accidents and hazards in a timely manner. Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas. Utilizes proper equipment and supplies in meeting the safety standards. Maintains workstation supplies. Completes workstation 5-minute clean up daily.
- Demonstrates regard for Goodwill’s assets including property and equipment.

Qualifications & Basic Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent, though relevant training and experience will be considered in lieu of this requirement.
- Knowledge of collectibles, antiques, thrifting, and/or collecting strongly preferred.
- Proficient with PCs, including email, Microsoft applications, and internet use.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently in fast-paced environment.
- Strong English writing skills, including grammar and punctuation, to list merchandise for auction.
- Comfortable staging merchandise and using digital device or smart phone for photography.
- Basic math and communication skills.
- Able to coordinate and work courteously as a team member to achieve group and department goals.
- Exhibit a friendly demeanor and cooperatively interact with diverse co-workers and customers.
- Preference given for experience researching merchandise online using web browser and eBay.
- Able to stand or sit for long periods, plus bend, lift, and reach often throughout a shift.
- Understand and follow established safety rules.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Compensation: $17.00 - $19.50/hour
