Automotive Refinish Technician/Painter

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
• Apply primer, topcoat, and clear coat on vehicles to achieve the desired finish.
• Mix and apply paint to vehicles using spray guns and other equipment.
• Ensure color matching and blend the color properly to achieve a seamless look.
• Ensure a high-quality finish by inspecting and polishing painted surfaces.
• Repair any painting defects or imperfections.
• Maintain inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards.
• Maintain a positive and friendly attitude with customers and coworkers.

Required Qualifications:

• Prior experience as an automotive refinish technician is required.
• Proven track record of producing high-quality refinishing work.
• Strong knowledge of different painting methods and techniques.
• Ability to use various tools and equipment used in automotive refinishing.
• Detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent color vision and ability to match colors accurately.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Certified General Motors Training will be required upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in automotive refinishing or a related field.
• Experience with various paint types and application techniques.
• Familiarity with computerized color matching systems.
• 2-5 years of automotive painting and refinishing experience.
• ICAR certification preferred.
