We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Title Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will have prior automotive experience, be certified through the MADA Title & Registration program, and bring a strong commitment to accuracy and customer service. In this role, you'll handle vehicle title processing and ensure all tax and title documents are completed correctly and in a timely manner—supporting the smooth operation of our dealership.

Responsibilities:

  • Process all new and used vehicles for registration in the appropriate state

  • Prepare and submit tax and title documents to the Department of Motor Vehicles

  • Verify collection of funds and confirm correct lienholder payoff prior to title processing

  • Review applications for accuracy and completeness

  • Maintain tracking systems for out-of-state titles and outstanding title work

  • Provide management with updates on missing/problematic titles and generate monthly reports for the controller

  • Sign over titles to wholesalers who have paid in full and report on any uncollected funds due to title issues

  • Assist with yearly renewal of dealer license plates in conjunction with the controller

  • Stay informed about changing title regulations; attend industry seminars and training

  • Cross-train others in title clerk responsibilities and provide periodic training to F&I and sales teams

  • Issue memos and updates to managers when title regulations or procedures change


Qualifications:

  • Prior automotive dealership experience required

  • Completion of the MADA Title & Registration Certification required

  • Experience with VITU and Dealertrack is strongly preferred

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and timeliness

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong problem-solving skills
