Fulton Commons Care Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)!
Position Type: Full-time
Pay Rate Range: $33.00 - $34.00 per hour.
Key Responsibilities of a COTA:

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OT) to create individualized rehabilitation plans aimed at improving residents' functionality and quality of life.

Implement therapy activities that are designed to meet the unique needs and capabilities of each resident under the guidance and supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).

Assist residents in performing daily activities, helping them build independence and engage in meaningful tasks to enhance their well-being.

Monitor residents’ progress during therapy sessions, offering support, motivation, and encouragement to achieve therapy goals.

Educate residents on the proper use of specialized equipment and assistive devices to promote independence and improve function in daily life.

Supervise therapy activities to ensure the safety, efficacy, and proper implementation of therapy interventions.

Maintain accurate records by documenting residents’ progress, treatment sessions, and outcomes in the facility’s rehabilitation software.

Communicate with OTR/L about residents' progress, concerns, and adjustments needed to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications for COTAs:

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.

Current and valid New York State OTA License.

Experience in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting is preferred, but not required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

A compassionate and patient-centered approach to therapy and resident care.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
