Delerme CPA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting & Advisory Services Manager to lead our growing accounting department. This individual will oversee accounting engagements, financial reporting, advisory services, Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUPs), indirect cost proposals, and Single Audit coordination while serving as the primary liaison between clients, the accounting team, and the tax department.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who takes ownership of client relationships, drives workflow improvements, develops team members, and makes sound accounting decisions independently. This role requires someone who can identify issues, create solutions, and maintain momentum without requiring constant oversight.


Key Responsibilities

Department Leadership & Workflow Management

  • Lead and manage the Accounting & Advisory Services Department.
  • Create, document, and improve accounting workflows and procedures.
  • Establish department KPIs, deadlines, and accountability measures.
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions proactively.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff and support personnel.

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary accounting advisor and client relationship manager.
  • Conduct onboarding meetings and financial review meetings.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with clients regarding accounting, reporting, compliance, and financial matters.
  • Act as the escalation point for accounting-related client concerns.
  • Provide a high-touch client experience focused on responsiveness and problem-solving.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Review and approve financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Oversee accounting-for-tax engagements.
  • Manage recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting engagements.
  • Ensure financials are accurate, complete, and tax-ready.
  • Review reconciliations, journal entries, and adjusting entries.
  • Maintain strong QuickBooks Online expertise and oversight.

Tax Team Collaboration

  • Work directly with the Tax Department to ensure accounting deliverables support tax preparation and planning.
  • Determine when additional accounting work is required to make financials tax-ready.
  • Coordinate accounting projects necessary for tax filings without waiting for executive direction.
  • Proactively communicate status updates and issues to tax leadership.

Fractional CFO Services

  • Participate in Fractional CFO engagements.
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
  • Prepare management reports and KPI dashboards.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to business owners.

Attestation & Specialty Services

  • Lead and manage Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) engagements.
  • Manage compilations, reviews, and non-attest engagements.
  • Prepare and review Indirect Cost Rate Proposals.
  • Coordinate client requests and deliverables related to government-funded programs.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for third-party audit firms.
  • Coordinate and support Single Audit engagements.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and external audit firms.
  • Manage client deliverables, schedules, auditor requests, and engagement timelines.

Team Management

  • Directly oversee accounting staff.
  • Assign work based on capacity and skillset.
  • Review work product and coach team members.
  • Develop training plans and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Promote accountability, organization, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Active CPA license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum 5+ years of public accounting or CPA firm experience.
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong QuickBooks Online expertise.
  • Experience reviewing and preparing financial statements.
  • Experience supervising staff accountants.
  • Experience with accounting-for-tax engagements.
  • Experience with AUPs, compilations, reviews, or attest-related engagements.
  • Experience supporting Single Audit engagements and working with third-party auditors.
  • Experience preparing or overseeing Indirect Cost Rate Proposals.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation & Location

Salary Range: Starting at $120,000+ annually, commensurate with experience.

Location: Remote (Puerto Rico or United States)

Language Requirement: English and Spanish


This role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership. The successful candidate will proactively manage client relationships, coordinate work across departments, make informed accounting decisions, escalate issues when necessary, and create solutions rather than wait for direction. Success in this role will be measured not only by technical accounting expertise but by leadership, initiative, communication, and the ability to build scalable processes that support the firm's growth.
