LOT PORTER

The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of dealership lots, service areas, and vehicles. This role involves moving inbound and outbound vehicles, washing cars, assisting customers, and supporting both the Sales and Service departments. The Porter ensures smooth traffic flow, proper vehicle display, and a high level of customer service to achieve profitability and customer satisfaction. All company and customer vehicles must be operated safely and in compliance with traffic laws.

Core Responsibilities:

• Moving vehicles in the service drive and sales lot to maintain traffic flow and display standards.

• Maintain an orderly parking area, sales lot, service lane, and showroom appearance.

• Wash customer and dealership vehicles as needed. 

• Assist customers with questions and direct them to the appropriate personnel.

• Moving cars, as directed, in accordance with dealership display standards. 

• Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing debris as necessary.

• Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.

• Makes key tags for vehicles.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

• Provide support to management and other departments as directed.

• Oversee vehicle delivery process, including managing delivery boards and gas slips.

• Assist with new car check-ins, inspections, and dealer trades.

• Compare serial numbers of incoming vehicles against invoices.

• Catalog and store keys; make key tags for vehicles

In addition, the Lot Porter should have:

• A valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.

• Good judgement.

BENDING, STANDING FOR LONG PERIODS, LIFTING 25+ LBS, WORKING IN ALL KINDS OF WEATHER EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK 40-50 HOURS PER WEEK

EDUCATION

High School diploma

Qualifications:

• Able to operate both automatic and manual transmissions.
• Enthusiastic
• Friendly
• Minimum of 18 years old with a current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• This position requires the ability to bend, kneel, walk or stand for long periods of time in all types of weather.
