What you'll do:
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems.
- Perform maintenance and repair work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with the parts department to obtain necessary components.
- Save and tag parts per warranty or customer request procedures.
- Conduct multi-point inspections and identify additional safety or service needs.
- Accurately document all work performed and recommended services.
- Perform road tests to verify repairs and ensure quality control.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, hazardous waste handling).
Keys to success:
- Level A: 4+ years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Level B: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Level C: 1–2 years of automotive repair experience or completion of a certified automotive training program.
- Prior experience as a C-level technician is typically required for B-level roles.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, repair orders, and diagnostic tools.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with service advisors and team members.
- Basic computer proficiency for repair documentation and diagnostics.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- ASE certification(s) preferred or willingness to obtain within the first year.
