In-Home Caregiver (Non-Clinical) – Greater San Diego Area

Pay: $19–$23 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Locations: El Cajon, La Mesa, Santee, Jamul, Downtown San Diego, Point Loma, La Jolla, Coronado, and surrounding areas
Position Type: Part-time / Full-time
Schedule: Open availability needed (including weekends and evenings)

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced In-Home Caregivers to support clients throughout the Greater San Diego area. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with clients diagnosed with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, ALS, and Parkinson’s disease, and who are passionate about providing high-quality, non-clinical care that enhances quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including:
  • Bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene
  • Dressing and toileting
  • Mobility assistance and transfers
• Support clients with memory care needs, including redirection and safety supervision
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying living spaces)
• Run errands such as grocery shopping and prescription pick-ups
• Provide transportation to appointments or outings (if applicable)
• Monitor and report changes in client condition or behavior
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment

Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience  (especially with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, ALS, or Parkinson’s clients)
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
• Ability to follow care plans and adapt to client needs
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background check and a current TB test

Preferred Skills

• Experience with memory care and neurodegenerative conditions
• Knowledge of safe transfer techniques
• Strong problem-solving and observational skills
