Job Description

Our restaurant servers are part of a team that is responsible for the flow of service from the kitchen to the residents The Compass Rose and Portside Lounge.  The Front of House Manager oversees all front-of-house operations, including breakfast, lunch, Happy Hour, dinner service, and special events, while ensuring exceptional hospitality.  

Responsibilities

 

Resident & Guest Experience 

    • Deliver exceptional hospitality to residents and guests. 
    • Greet residents by name and resolve concerns professionally. 
    • Ensure resident satisfaction throughout every meal period. 

Dining Room Operations 

    • Oversee breakfast, lunch, Happy Hour, and dinner service. 
    • Coordinate service with the Culinary Director and kitchen team. 
    • Manage seating, reservations, and dining room flow. 
    • Ensure all FOH stations are stocked before each service. 
    • Ensure training and compliance for all front of house servers.

Happy Hour & Bar Service 

    • Oversee Happy Hour operations and beverage service. 
    • Ensure responsible service of beer, wine, and cocktails. 
    • Maintain beverage stations, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies. 
    • Monitor resident satisfaction during Happy Hour. 

Dinner Service 

    • Lead dinner service from opening through closing. 
    • Ensure timely food delivery and accurate order execution. 
    • Monitor dietary restrictions and resident preferences. 
    • Complete dining room reset and closing duties. 

Leadership, Scheduling & Compliance 

    • Onboard, and train front-of-house team members.
    • Conduct performance coaching as needed.
    • Monitor labor costs and staffing levels.
    • Develop service standards and hold team members accountable for performance.
    • Partner with the Executive Culinary Director to enhance resident satisfaction and dining programs.
    • Analyze resident feedback and implement service improvements.
    • Lead, coach, and supervise FOH staff. 
    • Conduct pre-shift meetings and employee training. 
    • Coordinate and oversee front-of-house service for community events, holiday celebrations, marketing events, and private resident functions.
    • Maintain sanitation, safety, and health department compliance. 
    • Monitor FOH inventory including coffee, alcohol, china, glassware, linens, and supplies. 
    • Support with front of house monthly shift schedules
    • Ensure al POS system requirements are met
    • Ensure all processes and systems are in place as we grow for front of the house.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure and fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
