Monarch Place is seeking a Director of Dining Services to lead our dining team and create meals our residents look forward to every day. From planning menus to mentoring staff, you’ll help make our dining room a welcoming place where residents enjoy good food and meaningful connections.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll oversee daily dining operations, food preparation, purchasing, budgeting, and team development.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily dining operations, delivering flavorful meals, appealing presentation, and attentive service.

  • Plan menus that offer variety and reflect residents’ preferences and nutritional needs.

  • Oversee food preparation, quality, portion control, sanitation, and safe food handling.

  • Partner with the Dietitian on menu planning and therapeutic diets.

  • Complete weekly inventory and order food and supplies.

  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, forecasts, and staffing plans, working with the Executive Director to address variances.

  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate dining team members.

  • Provide coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary action when needed.

  • Promote and participate in dining and nutrition education for staff, residents, and families.

What You’ll Bring

  • Culinary degree or equivalent training.

  • Certificate in food service supervision and ServSafe certification.

  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in a high-volume, high-end food service environment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, motivational, and organizational skills.

  • A commitment to quality food, excellent service, and a positive dining experience for seniors.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and perform fine manipulation throughout the workday.

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.

  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing, including color recognition.

  • Work in a kitchen environment with occasional exposure to dust, fumes, odors, water, and noise.

  • Occasional outdoor exposure to weather and temperature changes.

  • Flexibility to work beyond normal hours, including weekends, and assist in other roles as needed.
