Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000 per year

About the Role

As Construction Safety Manager, you'll review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and project safety alongside supervisory personnel across our jobsites. You'll build and maintain safety programs and procedures designed to control, eliminate, and prevent injury and illness, while ensuring management's enforcement of and adherence to health and safety laws and regulations. Reporting to the Safety Director, you'll collaborate daily with operations to identify hazards, promote a strong safety culture, and help Doral meet its safety objectives.

This is a field-intensive role requiring consistent multi-day travel to states across the U.S.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify safety hazards on construction jobsites and coach workers on how to eliminate them
  • Lead safety-first job-site meetings, both formal and informal, and utilize Core Safety skill sets
  • Conduct regular, documented jobsite safety inspections and field assessments, and verify corrective actions
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, recognition, and daily safety initiatives
  • Assist project teams and subcontractors with pre-task planning and hazard analysis
  • Stop unsafe work practices or conditions and ensure immediate corrective action
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents to determine root causes and report findings to management
  • Develop and lead customer-specific safety orientations, toolbox talks, and daily stretch-and-flex programs
  • Maintain documentation for safety training, certifications, and orientation records
  • Support work comp claims management in collaboration with supervisors
  • Assist with hiring and staffing of project safety specialist teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety and Health
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, local, and company safety regulations, with the ability to research and enforce them
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and collaboratively implement corrective measures
  • Valid driver's license and reliable, insured personal transportation
  • Ability to travel to construction jobsites and work outdoors, including climbing stairs/ladders and standing or walking for extended periods; frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds

Qualifications

  • BCSP designation (CHST, CSP, or ASP) preferred
  • Prior internship or work experience in a safety role preferred
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or manufacturing environments preferred
