Bookkeeper/HR Support

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, motivated, and people-focused professional to join our growing team as a Bookkeeper/HR Support. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both accounting and human resources while working across a dynamic group of small businesses, including four car dealerships (Don Hattan Dealerships), a clothing boutique (Pink Saloon), and a brand new restaurant (Point 9). Bookkeeping duties will primarily focus on Pink Saloon and Point 9, while HR support will extend across all companies. Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks or similar software
  • Record and reconcile expenses and sales.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and assist with payroll for two small businesses.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and assist with end-of-month close processes.

HR Support

  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support new hire onboarding by preparing documents, setting up employee files, and ensuring smooth communication.
  • Maintain employee records and help ensure compliance with HR procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support for HR initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with QuickBooks (preferred).
  • Prior bookkeeping experience, ideally in a small business setting.
  • Exposure to or interest in HR, especially recruiting and onboarding.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A team player with a willingness to pitch in where needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in bookkeeping or accounting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in HR admin is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial and employee data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Familiarity with payroll or HRIS systems is a plus.
