Dog Stylist & Groomer

Dogtopia offers award-winning dog daycare, boarding and spa services (with some offering grooming and training), our core service is daycare for dogs. We love and care for all dogs like they’re our own and are dedicated to helping them become a well-balanced pup.

Dogtopia is looking for a Dog Groomer available on the week days! This person would work in the spa at our doggy daycare facility and grow with our business. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us and stay long-term.

They would have access to over 100 clients of ours to get themselves started with a great client base in grooming and dog spa services!  Our demand for grooming is growing quickly and we need an excellent groomer to join our team! We have dogs in our doors every day for daycare with pet parents looking for a grooming option and our database of clients is growing every day! We have a spa where you will do your grooming with everything you need. This includes a professional grooming table, drying crates and handheld dryer, walk-in tubs, plus other equipment and supplies. We just ask that you provide your professional grooming tools and if there’s anything else special about your grooming business that you’d like to provide.

We require that you have completed grooming school. Pay is 50% commission based. Tips are 100% yours. 

COMPENSATION

• $45,000 - $55,000 / year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Professional grooming services for a variety of dog breeds
• Perform spa services, including bathing, drying, and general cleansing, teeth brushing and ear cleansing, as requested for each pet
• Groom animals utilizing techniques which vary depending on type of hair, coat, breed and owner instructions
• Ability to adapt/respond to different types of customers and pets
• Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have.
• Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.
• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.
• Routinely cleaning work areas.
• Recommending suitable products to pet owners.

Job Requirements

• 1+ years of grooming experience in a professional groom shop environment
• Must own and maintain your own grooming equipment
• Ability to groom all Dog breeds and sizes to customer expectations
• High school diploma or GED.
•  Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America is advantageous.
•  Proven professional grooming experience.
•  Sound understanding of animal behavior.
•  The ability to stand for long periods of time.
•  The ability to treat all animals with compassion.
•  The ability to lift heavy pets and equipment.
•  Excellent communication skills.
•  Exceptional customer service skills.
•  Personal professional grooming tools and equipment
