Inventory Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to join our dealership team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth intake and management of incoming vehicle inventory. Additionally, they will be responsible for moving, cleaning, and ensuring vehicles are maintained in optimal condition. The inventory specialist will work with the Used Car Manager as needed to support departmental operations.

Inventory Specialist Compensation and Benefits:

Inventory Specialist Competitive Salary:  $21-$23 per hour.

Inventory Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoices.
  • Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
  • Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt.
  • Catalogs and stores keys and vehicle information packets.
  • Upload photos taken by the detail department to the computer system daily.
  • Assigns stock control numbers to cars.
  • Process lease returns according to guidelines
  • Prepares CPO vehicles for display on lot, by ensuring all required tags and markings are posted on vehicle
  • Help coordinate lot attendants in moving cars as directed by the sales manager and in accordance with dealership display standards to keep lot neat and orderly.
  • Cleans interior and exterior of used vehicles, including the trunk, glove compartment, tires, windows, etc. as needed.
  • Starts vehicles daily and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Performs light maintenance on vehicles as needed, i.e., replaces windshield wiper blades, repairs, or changes tires, replenishes fluids, gas and batteries charged, etc.

Inventory Specialist Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
  • Ability to prioritize.
  • Sense of spacial orientation.
  • Must maintain clean driving record and be insurable with company insurance.
