We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our team. This position involves appraising vehicle damage, providing accurate answers to customer questions, and explaining repair needs in a clear and professional manner. Body Shop Estimator Compensation and Benefits:
Body Shop Estimator Competitive Salary: $1500 per month salary plus 8.5% commission on individual parts and labor gross profit.

Body Shop Estimator Responsibilities:
- Appraising vehicle damage.
- Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
- Writes up customers’ vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order.
- Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
- Establishes "promised time." Checks with team foreman, if necessary.
- Obtains customer's signature on repair order; provides customer with a copy.
- Checks on progress of repair throughout the day.
- Contacts customers and/or insurance company regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
- Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.
- Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
- Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
Body Shop Estimator Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking).
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work alone, self motivate and manage one’s own time.
- Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Organized and extremely detail oriented.
- Ability to prioritize.

- Research skills
- Basic knowledge of dealership operations and/or office/clerical experience.
