We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Parts Inventory Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our parts department. In this role you will strive to achieve a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. You will accomplish objectives through effective purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, competitive pricing, merchandising, display, and advertising strategies.
Parts Inventory Manager Compensation and Benefits:
Parts Inventory Manager Competitive Salary: $1,000 monthly salary and 2.8% of adjusted parts gross, plus performance bonuses. Expected average monthly income of $12,000.

Parts Inventory Manager Responsibilities:
- Maintains a balanced inventory tailored to the needs of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and retail customers.
- Establishes and manages individual inventory levels to maximize turnover.
- Monitors and adjusts inventory to reduce obsolescence.
- Ensures all parts are properly tagged for full factory credit recovery.
- Supervises stock order procedures and analyzes monthly sales, expenses, and inventory to achieve profit goals.
- Provides high-quality service to both external and internal customers, including collaboration with the service and body shop managers for timely parts delivery.
- Manages accounting schedules, maintains relationships with vendors and manufacturers, and performs regular cycle counts.
- Completes a comprehensive physical inventory at least once a year.
- Oversees multiple income streams including retail, service drive, ecommerce, government contracts, and fleet accounts.
- Forecasts inventory needs based on historical service trends and seasonal changes in demand.
- Ensures compliance with all safety, hazardous materials (hazmat), and manufacturer training requirements.
- Finds and arranges coverage for the department when employees request time off, ensuring continuous operations and adequate staffing levels.
- Oversees organization and cleanliness of the department.
Parts Inventory Manager Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal and written abilities.
- Ability to read, speak and understand English.
- Ability to interpret various types of instructions—written, oral, or via schedules.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities.
- Competence with computer hardware and software relevant to inventory management.
- Team-oriented with a positive outlook.
- Clean driving record and insurability with company insurance.
