Service Development Coordinator

Company and Service Department Overview:

Dalton Motors services Dalton Toyota National City, Dalton Subaru National City, and Dalton National City and is located less than 20 minutes from most areas of San Diego. Founded in Guadalajara in 1945, Dalton Motors is a family owned and operated business with over 30 dealerships serving major manufacturers including Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, and others. They are continuing the legacy of Frank Motors, an automotive and community presence since 1965.  We have ongoing training all of our teams, and position specific training by our in-house trainer. Our various departments run very smoothly in large part due to our solid processes and trained, skilled staff, many of whom have been at our dealerships for twenty years or more.     

Pay Range: $21.00-$23.00

Position Summary

The Service Development Coordinator supports the service department by scheduling appointments, contacting customers for follow-up and service reminders, and assisting customers with inquiries. This role helps increase service traffic, improve customer satisfaction, and maintain accurate customer records while working closely with the service team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answer incoming phone calls for the service department.
  • Set/Modify customer service appointments in the dealership computer management system.
  • Make outgoing calls to remind customers of their upcoming service appointment.
  • Make outgoing calls to customers who may be overdue for service.
  • Make outgoing calls to set recall appointments.
  • Make outgoing calls to follow-up with customers who were recently in for service.
  • Update Customer Information in DMS
  • Review customer service history, maintenance requirements, and check for open recalls
  • Instill confidence in the customer by learning scripts and SDC processes.
  • Continue to develop your skills through training and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications

Experience, Education, or Skills Required:

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliable attendance.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal directions
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Must have some customer service experience
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include Saturdays
  • Professional personal appearance
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus

Physical Demands

  • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift to 15 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
