This is a great opportunity to work with an industry leader known for its friendly and welcoming environment, exceptional customer service, and large and loyal customer base.  We are looking for a Lube Technician who is enthusiastic, honest, hard-working, organized, and committed to great customer service. Express Lube Technicians’ pay is dependent on skills and experience. The Express Lube Technician is an entry level position within the Service Department, and as such it can be your first step in your career with Dalton Motors. The Express Lube Technician is responsible for performing maintenance services which may include oil changes, tire rotations and repair, brake inspections, multi-point inspections, and other minor service operations. 

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Located less than 20 minutes from most areas of San Diego, Dalton Toyota, Dalton Subaru, and Dalton Hyundai are high-volume, full-service dealerships. Dalton Motors has a large and well stocked parts department and Service Support (PASS) Team dedicated to setting and reminding customers of their service appointments. We have extremely knowledgeable and experienced service advisors who are highly productive and used to working in a fast-paced, customer-friendly environment.  We have ongoing training for our staff, including technician and service advisor/consultant training from the manufacturer, new product on-line training, and job specific training by our in-house trainer. Our service and parts areas run very smoothly in large part due to our solid processes and trained, skilled staff, many of whom have been at the dealerships for twenty years or more.      

Some of What You’ll do:

• Perform oil and filter changes per company standards
• Tire condition inspection, tread depth measurements, and rotations
• Perform a multi-point inspection
• Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary
• Perform brake pad/shoe inspection/measurement
• Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation
• Clean and lubricate fittings as needed
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy while working on vehicles
• Document repair orders per company standards
• Communicate vehicle needs to service advisor
• Test drive vehicle per company guidelines
• Provide excellent customer service
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks.

What we are looking for:

• Ability to perform work correctly, thoroughly, and efficiently
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Technician school/technician experience (required)
• Basic Computer Skills
• Time management
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Willing to submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Communication skills – communicates effectively with others
