Journeyman

Position Summary:

Dalkia's Smart Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Journeyman Electrician to support our infrastructure modernization efforts in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical lighting systems in new construction environments, with a focus on energy efficiency, safety, and reliability. The Journeyman Electrician will work on a variety of projects including lighting upgrades, controls systems, infrastructure retrofits, and new construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute installation and wiring of lighting systems, power distribution, panels, switches, transformers, and control systems.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to complete projects on time and within scope.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.

• Ensure all work is performed safely and complies with OSHA and company safety protocols.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project status.

• Provide input for job costing and material estimation.

• Supervise apprentices when required, and assist in their training and development.

• Support Dalkia SIS’s commitment to infrastructure improvement, nighttime visibility enhancement, and energy modernization across communities.

• Respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification a plus

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in commercial/industrial or Utility electrical work

• Proficiency with hand and power tools, meters, testers, and other electrical diagnostic tools

• Strong understanding of NEC codes

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail, safety-minded, and quality-focused

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

• Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with energy-efficient lighting systems and smart controls

• Knowledge of building automation or energy management systems (EMS)

• Experience with retrofit projects or government infrastructure work

• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

• Stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and kneel for extended periods

• Work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, high/low elevations, confined spaces)

• Tolerance for variable weather conditions and potential exposure to electricity
