We are looking for a Project Design Engineer to design, develop and assist in the implementation of Cogeneration Systems specific to customer facilities and customer energy needs. Responsibility will be for designing and specifying component parts and the actual system integration into a customer’s facility.

Job Requirements:

 

  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • 5 + years hands on experience as a commercial or construction project manager engineer
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical and design form
  • First-hand knowledge of power generation equipment, thermo dynamics and heat transfer are a plus.
  • Proven track record in mechanical system’s design for large commercial and industrial projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Excel
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical test equipment
  • Working knowledge of automobile (internal combustion) engines is a plus
  • Lean design experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A passion for creativity in energy solutions that will make a difference for customers

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Design and layout of CHP Systems and all the related electrical, plumbing, heating, gas, control panel, and communication connections. 
  • The Project Manager on the installation of CHP Systems.
  • Designs floor layout and plumbing connections.  
  • Managing the project at the customer’s work site. 
  • Designs workflow and procedures. 
  • Coordinate with the Fabrication Department on the assembly and construction of all CHP Systems.  
  • Works closely with the Energy Analysts on ensuring that the designs will meet the energy savings that are being projected. 
  • Ensures all the documentation is transferred over to the Service Department. 
  • Works with the Electrical Engineering Department to ensure that codes, equipment, specifications, and electrical loads all meet standard requirements. 
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Recommend product improvements & performs applicable training for production and field service personnel
